Sixth Episcopal District

The Sixth Episcopal District Social Action Commission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is committed to advancing justice, equity, and compassion in the communities we serve. Rooted in the rich legacy of the AME Church’s historic witness for freedom and human dignity, the Commission works to address social, economic, and civic issues that impact individuals, families, and communities across the district. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, the Social Action Commission equips congregations to respond faithfully to injustice, promote civic responsibility, and support policies and practices that uplift marginalized and vulnerable populations. By fostering awareness, encouraging informed participation, and partnering with community organizations, the Commission seeks to transform faith into action—empowering the church to be a visible and effective voice for justice, reconciliation, and positive social change.
